Schemas will be added one presenting problem at a time. Each follows the same shape so a learner who has used one can use any of them.

What a schema is

A schema is a structured way to organize the differential for a presenting problem so that the first branch is the most useful one, not the most obvious one. It is a scaffold for thinking, not a checklist.

Planned topics

  • Altered mental status
  • Anemia
  • Chest pain
  • Dyspnea
  • Fever in the hospitalized patient
